Stephen Ministry is a lay ministry program which enables parish members to minister to one another. The ministry is distinguished from other lay visitation ministries by its three requirements:
An initial 50 hours of trainingParticipation in on-going twice monthly peer supervision and continuing educationA two year commitment to serviceStephen Ministry is characterized by active listening, supportive presence, and complete confidentiality.
