This book is a short readable resource for those considering the adventure of missions. It is part Biblical teaching, part spirituality for a global world, and part how-to manual for getting there from here. It comes out of more than seven experience in Asia and twenty five years of praying, studying and engaging cross-cultural and missions ministry. Fr Loren is convinced that missions is God's gift to the Church to exercise her spiritual muscles--when there is little exercise, the Church grows weak; and when the Church engages the adventure, she grows stronger and healthier. Missions is an adventure of faith, it is a spirituality, it is the passion of God's heart to bring justice and redemption to all peoples around the world. The principles and commitments expressed in the book are being implemented in the life and ministry of Church of Our Savior.
Fr Loren will be leading a workshop on Engaging the Adventure at the Canterbury Missions Retreat, March 18 & 19, 2011.
